A three-hour live workshop
Build your first AI assistant
You leave with an assistant that answers questions over your own documents — deployed, shareable, built by you — and a clear view of what it would take to build one for your business.
- When
- Saturday, 19 September 2026, 10:00–13:00 IST
- Length
- 3 hours, live
- Seats
- 25
- Price
- ₹1,999 + 18% GST
Live online — a real session, not a recording. Google Meet link sent to registrants.
The three hours
Drawn from AI Foundations — the four-week program — and compressed. Each block says where it comes from.
- 0:0020 min
What is actually happening between your prompt and the answer
Tokens, context and why it runs out. Training versus inference, because almost every misunderstanding about AI comes from confusing the two. Enough of a mental model to make sense of everything that follows.
From AI Foundations, weeks 1 and 3
- 0:2030 min
Making a model do useful work
Prompting as engineering rather than folklore. Getting structured, machine-readable output instead of prose. Letting a model call a real function. Then an honest introduction to RAG — giving a model your own documents — which is what you are about to build.
From AI Foundations, week 3
- 0:5010 min
Break
Ten minutes. Get your documents ready.
- 1:0070 min
The build: an assistant over your own documents
Guided, from working starter code. You load your documents, connect a model, ask it questions and watch where it gets things right and wrong. Then we deploy it together, so by the end of the hour you have a link you can send to someone.
From AI Foundations, week 4 — project 1
- 2:1030 min
Is it any good, and what does it cost to run
The three things nobody selling AI mentions: hallucination and how to reduce it, how to tell whether an answer is actually good, and what running this costs per question. You leave able to judge a vendor's demo.
From AI Foundations, week 3
- 2:4020 min
Demos, review, and what to build next
Everyone shows what they built. We look at a few together and talk about what it would take to turn one into something a business runs on — which is the conversation the four-week program continues.
From AI Foundations, week 4
Who it is for
- Founders, managers and product people who use AI tools daily and want to know what is actually happening underneath
- Operations, marketing and analyst roles whose work is being reshaped by this
- Anyone deciding whether the four-week AI Foundations program is worth their evenings
Not for: Working engineers who already run models locally. You will be bored by hour one — Applied AI Engineering is the program for you.
What to bring
- A laptop that can run a browser
- A few documents you would like an assistant to answer questions about — a policy, a manual, a set of notes. We provide a sample set if you would rather not use your own.
- No coding background. The build starts from working code and every step is guided.
What you leave with
- A deployed assistant over your own documents, with a link you can share
- The starter code and the session recording, yours to keep
- A working mental model of what these systems do and where they fail
- A written note from us on what to build next, and what it would take
This is a workshop, not a program: there is no certificate and no project-completion guarantee. Both belong to AI Foundations, which is where this material comes from.
Taught by Codnov engineers who build and run AI systems in production every day.
Per seat
₹1,999
₹2,359 including 18% GST
If you go on to enrol in AI Foundations cohort 1, the workshop fee is credited against the program fee.
If we cancel or move the date, you get a full refund. Otherwise your seat is transferable — to a colleague, or to the next date.
25 seats. Saturday, 19 September 2026.
