Most of what people believe about AI comes from a headline or a demo, and both oversell. This is a day of the opposite: live demonstrations of these systems getting things confidently wrong, an honest account of which work is changing and which is not, and a written plan each participant leaves holding. Delivered on campus or on site, by engineers who run AI systems in production rather than people who present about them.

No technical background is assumed, and no laptops are required. A projector and a microphone are the only things the host needs to provide.

Before anything is explained, the room gets a tool to state something completely false with total confidence — about their own department, their own campus, a protocol that does not exist. Then they try it themselves, in teams.

What these systems actually are
In plain language, and without a single equation: what the model is doing between the question and the answer, why it invents things rather than saying it does not know, and what a knowledge cutoff means for the work in front of you.

Two volunteers put their own questions in, and the room predicts the answer before it appears — then checks it.
You leave with: A mental model that survives the next headline.
What actually changed at work
Which work is being compressed, which is not, and the honest middle: the tasks where a person now supplies the judgement and the machine supplies the speed. Delivered as an argument, with the parts we are unsure about named as unsure.

Sort a list of real tasks from your own week into what the machine does well, what it does badly, and what it must not touch. Defend the hard ones out loud.

What companies screen for
For campus audiences: what happens to a CV in the ninety seconds it gets, evidence versus claims, and the six things a fresher is actually tested on. For company audiences this module is replaced by how the team should adopt these tools without the output quietly degrading.

The thirty-day plan, and the questions nobody asks out loud
Everyone writes five specific things down, in silence, before they leave. Then anonymous written questions, read out exactly as submitted and answered straight.

How it works
A scoping call first
Who is in the room, which year or which team, how many, and what the host actually wants them to walk out with. The day is assembled from that, not from a fixed deck.
Demonstrations, not slides about demonstrations
The session runs on live demonstrations — including getting the tools to state something completely false with total confidence, about the host's own organisation. Nothing is shown from a customer system; every demonstration runs on material built for the session.
Everyone leaves holding something
Each participant writes their own thirty-day plan in the room, and takes it with them. A session people enjoyed and forgot is a session that failed.
